Luxor is possibly one of the hottest places on Earth so please remember a hat, water and shades! Our guide Yola was so friendly that by the end any inhibitions were gone. There was no pressure to buy anything that she took us to and I walked away with some lovely gifts for my family at prices I wouldn’t have been able to get in Cairo. The trip was long as I naively and foolishly booked the bus but what was really nice was the manager came to pick us up to make sure we got the right stop! So after 8+ hours we finally made it. The city is stunning. The monuments are breathtaking and you can’t help but be awed by everything. On the way back we got on a different bus where we saw the real Egypt! This bus took forever as we had many pit stops and finally arrived back in Cairo at 6:30am where the same driver was waiting for us. So apart from the heat and the journey I could not say enough lovely things about Yola and the overall experience

My friend and I greatly enjoyed this tour. Our guide, Sameh, was very knowledgeable. Sameh would take us through the sight explaining different parts of the structure then give us time to explore and look ourselves. There was always more time for things we took an extra interest so we didn't feel rushed. Sameh is a native to Southern Egypt and his knowledge of what felt like everything around us was impressive. We our 2 females traveling solo in Egypt and felt safe and comfortable with this company, no hustle or pressure. If you are looking to tour this area, I would recommend this one. It's private, it will be your party members, guide, and driver. There was much more freedom at the sights as we were not part of a large tour bus being herded like sheep. Sameh also chooses excellent places for lunch, fresh, Egyptian style and authentic. We can't thank him for the experience.

What people are saying about Luxor

Very friendly guide, who explains very well. Very interesting! He changed the program so that we could see Luxor illuminated. Beautiful! Great idea. Negative point: due to lack of wind, the felucca was canceled. We were therefore treated to a motor boat, which is less relaxing but which is not the fault of the guide who has apologized many times. The first restaurant was very good, local, fresh. The second restaurant was more touristy, a bit like a hotel buffet. A bit of a shame.

Everything was really well done! I thought my guide was very knowledgeable in ancient Egypt and she did a wonderful job explaining everything to me. We had plenty of time to see everything and get all the pictures needed. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who has a day in Luxor or is coming to Luxor on a day trip.
