Luxembourg: River & Wine Day Tour with Tasting

2. Luxembourg: River & Wine Day Tour with Tasting

Discover the south-east of Luxembourg, on board the "River & Wine" minibus. Whether you are a wine or crémant (sparkling wine) enthusiast, or if you simply wish to know more about the Moselle, the only region in Luxembourg where wine and crémant is produced, then this tour is ideal for you. During this day tour, participants will be accompanied by an audio guide available in three languages, giving them a lot of information about the region and its specificity. The tour starts with a first stop in Schengen, where a visit of the European Museum is part of the program. Despite of its moderate number of inhabitants, the village of Schengen is one of the most well-known places in Europe. On the 14th June 1985, the Schengen Agreement was signed on board the cruising boat MS Princesse Marie-Astrid by the BeNeLux-countries, France and Germany. Then, participants have the chance to discover the Musée A Possen, a museum that reflects the social and craft life of the inhabitants of the Moselle region in the 19th and early 20th centuries, with an emphasis on traditions and customs, wine-growing and crafts. Later on, participants will also visit a wine cellar and participate in at least one wine and crémant tasting.

What people are saying about Luxembourg

The tour provided by Visit Luxembourg Tours exceeded my expectations, which were already high. Our guide, Ken, led six of us around Ville Haute (Upper Town) and across 1000 years of history and culture, viewing the Kirchberg Plateau and Ville Basse (lower town) from Le Chemin de la Corniche, justifiably called "Europe’s most beautiful balcony," which runs along the city’s ramparts. Ken was engaging, patient, humourous, encouraged our inquisitiveness, and passionate about his topic. He also plied us with a glass of crémant de Luxembourg and a glass of white wine from Luxembourg. Both were equally tasty and added to our adventures. I had visited Luxembourg briefly and had done a lot of reading in preparation for a return; for my brother who joined me, this was Luxembourg's debut. Like me, he thoroughly enjoyed the tour. I highly recommend this for all visitors to Luxembourg City.

The tour was refreshing, engaging and fun. It was much more like a walk with friends! We got to know a lot of interesting facts about Luxembourg, and we got all our questions answered. Our guide, Ken was patient, open-minded and well-informed. Thank you for the experience!

Ken was a wonderful guide with perfect English and happy to answer everyone’s questions. The wine was great and it was a nice introduction to Luxembourg. He also brought grape juice for our son (which was very tasty:)

Exactly what we expected. Two glasses of Luxembourg made wine and a great deal of information about the city. We had a great time!

Clever and knowledgeable tour guide (Ken), we’ll equipped to answer questions and the wine was fantastic!
