    See the Lake Lucerne area from the clear, blue waters of the lake and from the famous mountains above. Cruise the lake, ride along the world’s oldest cogwheel railway, an aerial cableway, and a gondola at your own pace. 

    Start your roundtrip excursion on the number 1 bus in Lucerne in the direction of Kriens/Obernau. Get off at the Kriens, Zentrum Pilatus stop and reach the gondola station in Kriens after a short walk. Enjoy a 15-minute ride to the Krienseregg station.

    Get back on the gondola and hop off at Fräkmüntegg. Board the aerial cableway, the Dragon Ride, and reach the top of Pilatus Kulmafter after an exhilarating 5-minute ride. With its spacious interior, cockpit-like design, and large windows the Dragon Ride feels just like a helicopter.

    From the top you can enjoy the panoramic views of Lake Lucerne and the Swiss Alps. Take your time and decide if you want to stay inside the panoramic gallery, relax on the terrace, climb one of the peaks, or enjoy a local specialty in one of the nearby restaurants.

    The world's steepest cogwheel railway, built in 1889, will bring you from Pilatus Kulm past jagged rock faces, sparkling mountain streams, and lush fields of alpine flowers down to Alpnachstad. From there, take a breathtaking one-hour boat trip on Lake Lucerne and arrive where you started.

    Please check the timetable before your visit. Start your trip at the Lucerne train station. Show your voucher on bus number 1 from Lucerne to the stop called Kriens, Zentrum Pilatus. Exchange your voucher for the mountain railway ticket at the cash desk of the valley station in Kriens. If you wish to take the trip in the other direction, get on the boat to Alpnachstad from pier number 2 and show the voucher on the boat. At the valley station in Alpnachstad, you will have to exchange your voucher for the mountain railway ticket.

    Was attempting to book the Golden Round Trip to Mt Pilatus but this one popped up instead when I clicked my wishlist item. Seems to be the very same trip under a different name. This excursion was well worth it. The views during the Gondola ride, train ride and boat ride were exceptional! Would definitely do again if I ever visit Switzerland again. Only recommendation is pay attention to schedules of boats because the full schedule if boat rides was not accurate on the day we were there.

    The trip was amazing! You can arrive at any time, the get your guide voucher only gets you the tickets! The transportation was somewhat confusing to figure out at first, you DO NOT need a ticket for the bus though! Once you chance the voucher to a physical ticket it isn’t confusing though! Warning, the ropes course and alpine slide were not open in late September on a colder day! The experience was overall amazing though and it was so worth it! The price is about the same as buying it at the ticket office. Amazing experience though with breath taking views! Highly recommend the self guided one to go at your own pace!

    The directions just to get to the gondola were very confusing. If you can find the bus, good on you! Then, if you can figure out the right place to get off of the bus, because there are duplicate names, then really good on you. Be very clear before you go, or you will get lost.
