What a fun few hours spent with Luca, our guide. He spoke excellent English and gave us a very interesting tour around Lucca outlining the history and various landmarks. There seemed to be no question he couldn't answer! The bikes were easy to handle and in good condition and the small family-run vineyard was like being invited to lunch by distant family. The tour was very simple, showing winemaking on a small scale but they answered any questions we had and we got to try 3 very nice wines with a delicious lunch. There was no hard sell to get us to buy more wine, but we did anyway! Just as we were due to leave the heavens opened so we were invited back in to drink coffee until the rain had passed. Throughout the day we felt we got very personal service and were not rushed on to the next stage at any time. I would highly recommend this tour.
Antonietta made us feel welcome. We made bruschetta, tiramusi and pasta together. She doesn't speak English, so there was a translator. When we were done cooking, we had a really nice dinner together with her family and some friends. It was special, because we were invited in her family's home and to be surrounded with Italians. It was a nice local experience and the food was good.
Excellent trip , our guide Amelia , was fantastic very informative in a jolly way definitely made the trip better. Wine tasting brilliant, nice portions and food presented and tasted great. I would definitely recommend x
Amelia was very friendly and had a lot of info to share as we travelled. The town of Montecarlo was worth the trip alone, but was then topped by an amazing tour of the vineyard and a LOT of great wine!
Very well organized, attention to detail, delightful host, and a fun learning experience.
