The Hague: Classic Cars Louwman Museum Entry

1. The Hague: Classic Cars Louwman Museum Entry

The Louwman Museum is home to the world’s oldest private collection of motor cars, compiled by two generations of the Louwman family. The museum dates back to 1934 and now comprises over two hundred and fifty antique and classic motor cars. Experts regard the collection as one of the most beautiful in the world. The museum exudes passion. Each car has its own story to tell, its own contribution to history. The motor car is a mirror of culture. The collection is housed in a purpose-built museum in The Hague, the city where P.W. Louwman established his Dodge and Chrysler import company. The building, designed by American architect Michael Graves, blends in sympathetically with its historic surroundings. The landscape gardens, designed by Lodewijk Baljon, complement the architecture of the building.

An incredibly beautiful collection of vehicles and exhibits such as pictures, drawings, figures, sculptures and various vehicle accessories. The museum is a journey through the automotive world from the first motorized carriage to the modern hybrid vehicle. Special exhibition areas for Bugatti, Ferarie and Elvis through to passenger racing make this museum an experience for young and old as well as for men and women. Admission is very cheap at €17.50 for an adult. Please note the museum is closed on Mondays.

Fantastic facility for car lover's! Bigger and better than expected. This was for my husband and his adult son and they spent about 2.5hrs there. I await the photos! Ticket entry on mobile worked well and they allowed them in a half hour early as the journey from the centre of Rotterdam was easier than expected.

Very large selection of Dutch, Belgian, French and American early automotive history. Good selection of sports and racing cars especially Toyota and Italian manufacturers. All on display in a huge ornate building.

Fabulous collection with the added bonus of the F1 collection on show also! I spent an enjoyable 3 hours strolling around marvelling at some truly iconic cars… great value!

A brilliant place, every motoring fan should be here ...
