After your tour, indulge in a wine tasting with 4 different wines selected around your choice of wine class and type. Amazing experience! This is a must see hidden gem in the Algarve. You descend the equivalent to 80 floors into the underground on an old, smooth, well maintained, industrial elevator. This is a working mine so, not only you can see old machines from back in the day, you can also see current technology at work. The mine is huge and the terrain is flat so it’s very suited for all ages (no babies though). Our guide was very knowledgeable and you could see he has passion for what he does, he was super nice and fun. If you find yourself in the Algarve, give your skin a break from the sun and go enjoy this experience, don’t take your coat though, everyone thinks it’ll be cold down there but it’s actually a warm 23 degrees.

We had a really interesting and enjoyable trip to the Loule Salt Mine. The descent in the cage down a 240m shaft was thrilling and we were amazed at the enormity of the mines we explored. Our guides were excellent, providing loads of fascinating information and answering all our questions. We were unaware of the existence of the mines until we heard the advertising on KISS FM, despite having holidayed in the area for over 11 years!

We were a party of 10 and we all so thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The venue is stunning and the people charming. We stayed for 4/5 hrs enjoying the wine and the wonderful views. There is a swimming pool to enjoy which was quite a surprise and also lots of shade which is desperately needed during the summer months. We would recommend 100% and may even visit again next year!

I had a great time in the salt mine. Alex was a very good guide and knowledgeable on the history of the mine, its current uses today and took some good pictures. I hope this salt mine becomes even more popular as it has a great number of uses.

Hosts and guide were really nice and the different kind of wines were amazing
