The tour of the palace was very interesting and staff were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We had a problem getting to venue for our stated ticket time but staff were happy to allow us to arrive later. (Not sure if this would apply in peak tourist times if the tours were fully booked, we went in February)

The tour was nicely organized in three parts each 10-12 minute long, it is easier to follow the guides this way rather than having a longer tour around the entire exhibition. A lot of interesting historical information was provided. And the exhibition was not too big, which allowed us to explore everything in detail.

Incredibly disappointed. We were with a small child so were at the back walking to the sledges which meant we had to go in the last one which had a cover on it. It was frosted over pretty bad so we couldn't see a thing. Guide told us to look out of the side but we couldn't do that either as it would have been dangerous. We didn't really get to see the lights which was fine as we were expecting that may be the case. This is why we booked this particular excursion so it would be fun anyway seeing all the scenery. At the last stop, one of the guides asked the people in the other sledges to swap with us for the last 10 minutes so "we could all enjoy the experience". This meant that we at least got a couple of photos. Unfortunately though, given how much we paid, it was too little too late. Felt a little like this is a common issue. Advice to other travellers, get to the front when walking to the sledges so you don't get stuck in that one.
