Dubrovnik: Seaside Panorama and City Walls Cruise

4. Dubrovnik: Seaside Panorama and City Walls Cruise

The first stop on your panoramic cruise is the city walls. As you sail slowly up close to these historic walls, listen to your skipper's anecdotes about growing up just behind them, as well as the rich history of the stones. You then visit the St. Lawrence Fortress, whose walls are super thick on one side and super thin one other side. Whilst touring the site, your guide will inform you as to just why it was built in that way. Lokrum Island is next on your agenda, which bears a dark history. From Richard Lionheart, Maksimilian Hapsburg, and Monks Curse, the stories about Lokrum are bound to give you chills. As you cruise down to the other side of the coast, it is time for a drink. Choose from local beer, local wine, and water, which you can sip on as you make your way to your next destination. Your tour concludes with a 45-minute panorama including a stop in front of the first quarantine ion of Europe, the Lazaretos of Dubrovnik. There your skipper tells you how Dubrovnik defended against dangerous and lethal diseases throughout the Middle Ages.

What people are saying about Lokrum

It was a romantic cruise. Essentially around Lokrum Island in the bay of Dubrovnik. The sunset was spectacular. The wooden boat, a Karaka, was a replica of historical ships used for trading. It has sails unfurled in the photos, but not on the cruise, only diesel powered. The food was a seafood buffet was extensive and sufficient. Dessert was also scrumptious. The price tag was, compared with restaurant food in Dubrovnik on the high side. The staff went the extra mile to contact us. Overall an enjoyable evening.

Mario took us to the shooting locations, discussed interesting aspects of the production of the show, and shared some gossip about the show's actors. He also included a nice touch of Dubrovnik's history to make the tour more meaningful. Personally, I loved his engaging and friendly style. Highly recommend!

Mario was a great guide! Funny, professional, and gave a well-rounded tour about Game of Thrones and how it fit into the wider picture of European history and the impact it had on Dubrovnik.

Great tour from Mario, informative and funny - thanks for being flexible and for answering all my burning questions!

Interesting tour. The tour guide adapted the tour to what we were interested in which was really great.
