The tour leader did not keep track of the people in the small group. I fell in the bathroom at the temple and he (palo) who was recommended to me, only asked if I was ok to walk. Never gave assistance. Said he depended on the tips during the conversation. Made stops that was not in the Jewish quarter. Took us to the oldest bookstore which I had been to, and was was reading out of a book. Several people were very disappointed. It was extremely hot in the synagogue and the woman talked for 45 min. When we were walking he offered water or juice and then we had to pay for it. I cannot tell you haw majorly disappointed I was. Talked about himself and nothing more than the stops I made reference to. I took an Uber to make sure I got there on time. What a fiasco. Any way I can get my money back. My friend had to run into the bookstore to tell Palo that we were leaving. He commented that he thought we were with him the entire time. I will never recommend this tour to anyone sadly.

Paolo was quite knowledgeable about the history of the Jewish people in Portugal. He eagerly shared both the history and his personal connections as he just recently realized he was Jewish. We learned a lot.
