Full description
Ride along the Tagus riverside and learn all about the importance of various areas on the past, present, and future of Lisbon. See it all on a e-bike, perfect for exploring with no effort. Your guide will show you how to control your bike and then you’ll be ready to go. You can choose between a 90 minute tour or a 150 minutes tour. On the shorter tour you can decide between the western part of the city or the eastern part. The western part starts in the neighbourhood of Belém, known as the District of the Age of Discoveries, heading to Cais de Sodré or vice versa. Belem is a waterfront area where Vasco de Gama and other explorers departed on their voyages. Cais do Sodré is an important bohemian area that connects everyone in the city. Right next to Cais do Sodré is the city center of Lisbon, where you’ll visit the central square of Praça do Comércio with its important shipping dock. Ride under the 25th of April Bridge, and arrive in the Docas area, which hosts the main nightlife centers of the capital. You will pass by Ribeira das Naus, a recently rehabilitated place for people to enjoy the wonderful view over the Tagus River in a calm and welcoming space that connects directly to the city center. The Eastern part you can start on Cais do Sodre, heading to Parque das Nações or vice versa. You’ll visit the more industrial area of Lisbon, but also very trendy quarters, where music and cultural life are developing. Parque das Nações, used to be an ugly industrial area until it was chosen to host the last world fair of the 20th century, Expo 98. It has since then been reborn into a futuristic glass-and-steel district, home to wonderful examples of modern architecture.
