Full description
Following a pick-up at your hotel in Lisbon, you’ll travel in an air-conditioned, 8-seat vehicle to the Fatima Sanctuary. Learn about the miracle of the apparition of the Virgin to local shepherd children in 1917.  Next, your 8-hour tour moves west to the coast, with a stop at Batalha to visit the Batalha Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most fascinating Gothic monuments in Europe. King John I of Portugal built the monastery to give thanks to the Virgin Mary over a battle against Spanish troops in 1385. After lunch, you’ll visit Sítio, a clifftop village that offers some of the best views in Portugal. From high on the cliffs surrounding Nazaré, you’ll learn about the legend of Nossa Senhora da Nazaré. The statue of Our Lady of Nazaré is one of the oldest Christian art pieces. Continuing on, you’ll fall in love with the colorful, romantic village of Obidos. Its winding streets and medieval structures, castle walls and handicraft shops make this stop the highlight of the trip for many people. You’ll have the opportunity here to taste the typical liquor of this region known as ginjinha, or simply ginja.

Our guide, whose name i cannot pronounce or spell, was amazing. He was very knowledgeable and gave us so much information on the places on the tour. Fatima was beautiful, although I expected more religious aspects. I would gladly return some day. Batalha monastery was interesting with lots of history. Nazare was fantastic with the stop on the highest point and the history of the little chapel built there and the hidden gem of a statue down the stairs in it. If the story we heard was true it is amazing! The lunch stop on the beach was great. Our driver/guide mentioned a few places he liked and only suggested we have seafood. I believe we all had tried some kind of seafood, and no one was disappointed in what they had. There was still time after eating to walk near the beach. Obidos was a pleasant surprise. The ginja liqueur was very tasty, and i do not usually drink alcohol. Walking around the town inside the wall was interesting. Highly recommend this tour.

You have to like Fatima. You have to see it once and feel the fervor. Batalha is a beautiful gothic block. Good lunch. Nazaré. The waves can only be admired from November to March. Otherwise, wonderful views of the sea from the very top. Obidos is the Portuguese Carcassonne in small and fine. Nice people, reasonable prices, great stay.

An extraordinary day with an extremely friendly guide (Luis), he was very attentive, very courteous, funny and he does his job with extraordinary passion. If you edit then don't do it anymore, the cars are impeccable, the culinary and other advice is much appreciated and the guide we had was extremely patient despite the delay we had in the morning following a random police check. The guide spoke several languages, we did the tour in Spanish and he speaks Spanish as well as French and many other languages. A big thank you to Luis and good luck :)
