Aeolian Islands: Active Volcano Tour

1. Aeolian Islands: Active Volcano Tour

Experience a full-day tour of the Aeolian Islands, which form one of the most active geological structures in the Mediterranean area. The Archipelago of the Aeolian Islands consists of seven exquisite islands off the coast of Sicily - Lipari, Panarea, Vulcano, Stromboli, Salina, Alicudi, and Filicudi - in addition to smaller islets and giant boulders. They all emerge from an uncontaminated sea, created by still-active volcanoes (Stromboli and Vulcano), and blessed by a savage beauty. The Islands, the destination for tens of thousands of tourists annually, are part of the Province of Messina. Departing from Milazzo, sail to Vulcano and stop for 4 hours on the white and black beaches and climb the crater of Vulcano. Then depart from Vulcano to Panarea, the smallest of the islands. Soak up the beautiful atmosphere of the island as you stroll around the narrow streets of its historic center. Afterward, pay a visit to the prehistoric village of Capo Milazzese, where you can learn more about Panarea's ancient origins. Visiting Cala Junco Bay is a must - a spectacular beach shaped like an amphitheater ideal for underwater swimming. Finally, relax on the sandy beach of Cala degli Zimmari before continuing your journey. Sail through the picturesque inlets which form a micro-archipelago between Lipari and the island of Stromboli, your next stop. Visit Saint Vincent’s Square and the house in which Rossellini and Ingrid Bergman lived during the shooting of the film "Stromboli terra di Dio" (Stromboli land of God). As the sun sets over the island, enjoy panoramic views of the port and volcanoes from the main square. Watch as the fire of the eruptions and the dark sky clash with each other providing ever-changing colorful creations in the Sciara del Fuoco.

What people are saying about Lipari

Nice trip for tourists who z. B. live on Lipari and want to see other islands. On Stroboli it's nice to walk up to the church and then walk down the back through the village until you're down on the beach again. In this area of the village is also the house where the film "Stromboli" (1949) starring Ingrid Bergman was shot. It makes sense to take a sweater with you for the return trip. In September it can get a bit chilly in the evenings on the sea.

The door is great for seeing and doing a lot in one day. However, the time per island is quite short. We could go swimming on Vulcano, on Panarea there was enough time for a walk, but the way to the interesting places was too far. We ate on Stromboli, which we would recommend to everyone, because the back is quite long and you come back on land late.

Visiting 3 islands and seeing from close real time eruptions of the volcano Stromboli. Great! Improvement points: you cannot pay by card on the boat so take cash. Also, the italian guide did not speak proper english and we did not understand the explanations

The reservation was there at the activity organizer's office when we arrived. He clearly specified the activity and the departure platform. Everything went perfectly well. A word of advice: don't forget your bathing suit.

Pleasant team, small inconvenience the explanations were only in Italian but we knew it.
