Covid-19 Update

Due to health and safety regulations, this itinerary may change. See Know before you go for the latest updates.

Walk up Le Morne Brabant mountain, one of Mauritius' most popular attractions and a UNESCO World Heritage Site led by a certified climber as your guide on this small-group tour. Meet your guide at Le Morne Kitesurfing Beach for a safety briefing before you head to the entrance of the mountain. The first section of the hike will be through the luscious rainforest. Make sure to keep an eye out for the phenomenal and rare endemic birds, and plants. Watch the golden sunrise and listen to the birds chirp as you climb up the mountain's four rock-scrambling sections. Along the way, your guide will tell you historical stories about Mauritius' past, and the significance of this important mountain. Pause at the famous Trochetia Boutoniona viewpoint, named after the island's national flower, for some healthy snacks. Take a moment to admire the breathtaking panoramic views surrounding you. Next, arrive at the 470-meter-high summit and try not to let your jaw drop too low as you see the intense beauty and nature Mauritius is so famous for. Snap a few well-deserved photos before heading back down the mountain.

We climbed very early in the morning at night with torches, to reach the top by sunrise. We stopped many times to catch breath and take pictures, and the guide was very good and patient for the slower of us and explained us the story of the place. The views were amazing and we stood there long enough to have a snack and take pictures. Going down was alot easier and we stopped everytime the guide saw a plant or tree to explain what it is. Overall a very nice experience, totally recommed if you come to mauritius!

The view from the top is superb! In morning the sun is not heating too much and views with rising sun (I had also rainbow) are changin through the climb. I felt that my security is number one priority. Kevin also had good knowledge of Mauritian history and he pointed out some endemic plants. It was one of the best adventures in Mauritia. Climb on Le Morn started uphill walking. Uper part of the climb is rocky and you need to use your hands and feet to get to the top. It took about 3 hours to conquer the top and get back to the shore.

This was an amazing experience to do whilst in Mauritius and I highly recommend to anyone into hiking/ climbing. It is definitely challenging and you need to be of good physical fitness to complete but worth it for the views. We did the sunrise tour which set of around 5.30am and the sun rose as we were walking. The advantages of this is that we were the first people of the day to reach the summit. Le Morne can get quite busy later in the day which I can imagine isn’t pleasant. Our guide was Kevin who was fantastic from start to finish. I wouldn’t recommend doing this hike without a guide as there are some areas which are quite dangerous. Kevin provided us with snacks, gave us the history of the island and the story of Le Morne which was really interesting.
