  • Mauritius: Le Morne Mountain UNESCO Eco Hike

    2. Mauritius: Le Morne Mountain UNESCO Eco Hike

Begin the hike and traverse along the North-Western base of the mountain, allowing for two panoramic perspectives of the mountain to be appreciated of the North Western and South Eastern flanks. The initial hike follows an undulating path that is designed to warm up your muscles and elevate your heart-rate before the scrambling and climbing sections begin. • Mauritius: Private South Coast Highlights Tour

    3. Mauritius: Private South Coast Highlights Tour

See the sights of south Mauritius with a private driver and guide on a full-day tour exclusive to you and your group. Continue to the mountain village of Chamarel to look at the amazing sand dunes of different colors at the Seven Coloured Earths. Get panoramic views of the rural landscape of the Black River district and peaks of Le Morne Brabant mountain.   Visit the Alexandra Falls viewpoint in Gorges National Park, and then look inside an ancient volcanic crater at Trou Aux Cerfs, where the lush vegetation and tropical plants will take your breath away. End with a trip to the crater lake of Grand Bassin – also known as Ganga Talao – to see statues of different deities sacred to Hindus.

Pick up was on time and the vehicle used was top notch. Ragesh, our guide, was great. He provided us with a lot of information and took our photos. The only issue was that he had the tendency to turn off the air condition in the car even after we requested it. Lucky that it was quite cool while in the mountains. Couldn't really figure out why he would switch it off most of the time. That's the only reason I'm giving him 4 stars.

Tour: The tour was amazing. Bryn's company has special access to the area which others companies don't have. That means that we were able to start earlier and fully experience the breathtaking sunrise. We also did not have to climb in the heat which is quite an advantage considering the fact that the volcano stones heat up during the day. The hike was really amazing with lots of viewpoints. It took us about 3 hours. The view on the top was our highlight of Mauritius. Words can describe it, you gotta experience it! Guide: Bryn was by far the best guide we've ever experienced in our lives! He loves what he is doing and was one of the most positive people we've ever met. He's quite knowledgeable and has years of climbing experience and we felt super save all the way. He took tons of great pictures and created an amazing video for us. Equipment: We definitely recommend to bring proper shoes, water (a backpack to carry it - you need your hands for some climbing passages) and sunscreen.

This tour is highly recommended! Our guide was very friendly and told us a lot about Mauritius; He was able to tell a lot about history, people, religions, nature and also about the country's economy. All in all, he was able to answer all of our questions and was more than patient (the slightly broken English is not always easy to understand). The tour was very interesting, we were able to take as much time as we wanted at the individual stops, so all without stress. He was also open to special requests (for example, we stopped at a manufactory for handmade ships and we were also able to visit the "Rhumerie de Chamarel" rum brewery). I would only deduct points from the tour description, because Ile Aux Bénitiers is not visited for swimming. We only saw this island from a beautiful viewpoint at the end of the tour. The visit is part of another tour.

This was so much fun and the views were just amazing. Our guide was a real professional and I really suggest to go with him or at least take some other professional guide with you. It isn't very easy hike.

Amazing experience - Bryn was great and we loved the entire morning. Fab hike - very sweaty and hot - but really enjoyed it and Bryn took some fantastic photographs! Thank you!

Exceptional service informative, punctual and friendly!!!
