Full description

Take an excursion from Las Vegas to the Hoover Dam, which has long been known as one of the engineering wonders of the world.

When the Hoover Dam was completed in 1935 it was both the world's largest electric power-producing facility and the world's largest concrete structure. Currently, it ranks as the world's 34th-largest hydroelectric generating station.

During the half-day tour, you’ll be able to view the 17 main turbines that generate a maximum of 2,074 megawatts of hydroelectric power. You’ll also take in views of the Dam and Lake Mead from the Arizona Lookout Point, the best viewing spot in the area.

You also get an up-close look at the newly opened Hoover Dam bypass bridge, which is a modern feat of engineering, soaring 900 feet above the Colorado River. This bridge is the longest and tallest arch bridge in the western hemisphere.

Later, enjoy a spectacular vista of the Mike O'Callahan-Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge, which opened in 2010 and stretches nearly 2,000 feet in length.

Please note that this is not the Hard Hat Tour of the Hoover Dam.

The bus picked us up at our hotel on the strip, which was very convenient, and made sure we knew where the pick up spot was so we didn't miss it. The driver was very nice and we got lots of information and facts about the history of Las Vegas and the surrounding area. Though there were time constraints at each stop, it seems to be an adequate amount of time for what we needed and Bill made sure everyone was back o the bus before departing.

Mr Bill was an excellent tour guide and being driven there was great. He had excellent info for the whole trip, but my family was burdened by the time constraints set forth by the group setting. We wanted to have more time to explore all of the dam. So for nerds like us, driving yourself may be a better option.

Found site on-line. Easy to book. Good value. Immediate confirmation, and text with direction to meeting location and time for pick-up at our hotel. Mr. G was our driver and guide. Very nice. Had breakfast snacks, juice & water for us. Knowledgeable. Good humor. Just overall good experience. Shared cool information & facts during the drive. Comfortable mini-bus.
