Built in the mid-1920's, Cool Springs was born on Route 66 and remains an antiquated spawn of the Mother Road today. Then, we take the Route 66 Black Mountain scenic 8-mile stretch to Oatman, known as the Sidewinder, which has 191 curves, turns and switchbacks. The views from the Sitgreaves Pass during your travel of the Black Mountains, which borders the eastern shore of the south-flowing Colorado River from Hoover Dam, are simply stunning. Finally, we reach Historic Oatman in time to stroll around the vintage shops, meander with the burros and experience the 'High Noon' gunfight reenactment.
