We booked the panoramic tour because we wanted to avoid wasting any precious vacation time on dealing with the hassle that comes with a do-it-yourself sight seeing tour (you know: finding a rental car, reading tourist guides to define a route, looking for parking space at every sightseeing location etc). Obviously, excursions come at a cost but we have to admit that at least this one, was well worth it. We were picked up at our hotel at the correct time by a charming, friendly guide (called Uwe) who during the whole 8 hour tour, provided us with interesting information about Gran Canaria, showed professional driving skills and provided enough flexibility for everyone (we were a group of 6) to take the time we needed at each stop. Part of the package was also an all-in lunch in a local restaurant which gives the opportunity to actually taste the real local cuisine. But now... the verdict... well, since this excursion met all expectations and there's nothing really which we didn't like,

  • Gran Canaria: Off-Road Day Tour with Optional Camel Ride

    4. Gran Canaria: Off-Road Day Tour with Optional Camel Ride

Spend an unforgettable day discovering Gran Canaria’s interior on a 4-whell drive safari that takes you along dirt paths and rural roads. You’ll travel by fully-equipped jeep with a highly skilled driver and guide, who knows every inch of the route. On this 7-hour tour, you’ll head to the very heart of the island and experience why Gran Canaria is referred to as a miniature continent. The tour offers you plenty of opportunities to take photos and also a stop for lunch to enjoy typical Canarian specialties.  You’ll feel like a desert scout or even like Lawrence of Arabia, as you ride a gentle camel through the 1000 Palm Tree Valley. You don’t need to ride on the hump, by the way, as the camels are fitted with comfortable 2-seater saddles!

Pleasant trip, more info about the areas we were visiting would have been a nice choice (eg. S. Lucia church and the village...). The driver Gabri was fun (we were trying to understand his Spanish, answering in Italian, he was doing the opposite and the experiment was quite successful!)

Definitely take something to put on. It was a lot of fun to drive with Laura. But after that I got a total cold. Because you sweat and the jeeps are open.

Great activity. The girl was aware of us all the time and explained in detail all the things and fish that were around us. I recommend 100%

It was lovely. The guides were amazing and really funny. I would recommend it to everyone!
