Tenerife: Guided Canyoning Experience in Los Arcos

1. Tenerife: Guided Canyoning Experience in Los Arcos

Go on a guided rappelling adventure in Los Arcos Canyon in Tenerife. Learn a new skill as you take in the immense, swooping geological formations surrounding you in the canyon. Learn all about the canyon's geological history from your local guide. Meet your guide, pop on your helmet and harness, and start off with a little hiking route. See and learn about the endemic flora and talk about the history of this iconic location from your local guide. Then, get taught how to rappel before putting your newfound skills to the test on a range of walls created by volcanic ash. Once you reach the first rappel, the fun begins. Descend with ropes through several walls — each one is very different from the other — all of which are made of volcanic ashes. Throughout the tour, be amazed by the scenery that surrounds you, including Los Arcos, which was formed by the erosion of the water that passed through many years ago. Once at your last rappel, embark on another short hike to return to your meeting point.

Tenerife: La Orotava Canyoning Trip with Canyoning Guide

3. Tenerife: La Orotava Canyoning Trip with Canyoning Guide

Try something new and spend an active day outdoors on this canyoning excursion to La Orotava from Tenerife. Gear up in canyoning gear, then prepare to rappel down the orange canyon walls, take in the fresh air, and get unbeatable views of the landscape. The approach to the ravine begins on a forest track with a gentle slope, where you’ll walk for about 45 minutes. The start of your descent begins with a first rappel of about 22 meters. From here, you can begin to observe how the accumulation of volcanic ash and the erosion produced by the passing of time have naturally come together and formed this unique canyon. The light playing against the moss-covered orange walls and creating various shades will undoubtedly be the main attraction during the entire descent. After finishing 9 rappels, arrive at the Chimoche track to conclude your descent. Finish off your trip by making your way back to the starting point on an approximately 20-minute walk.

What people are saying about La Orotava

It was a lovely day and having our guide Angel and driver too.We were collected from our hotel at Costa Adeje. The trip was full of information from Angel and his vast knowledges of being a canarios and other travel information. We covered all these places below as we don’t think we can visit them in just one day, for us it’s the best to know these places if ever we have to check it out again and that helps us to give an idea. We can’t comment to the German guide and we are only 4 people in this tour but he is our guide or to accompany us for a photo or short walk. We had lunch at Candelaria which is near the church and chose the restaurant near the coast and it was lovely and great price too. Angel never have any deals with those restaurants like other travel agents that they will push you to eat to that place. Places we’ve visited Santiago del Teide Garachico Icod de los vinos La Orotava San Cristóbal de la laguna or la laguna Candelaria El Medano

I can't say enough good things about our guide Jorge and about this trip. Super well managed, gorgeous canyon, spectacular day. Jorge was very knowledgeable and safe. He put everyone at ease. I'm an experienced climber and was impressed by his safety systems and knowledge. Each rappel had it's own challenges, keeping us interested. He taught us well and also adapted to the comfort of each member of the group. He took the time to make sure everyone got great photos and taught us about the local flora and geology. We absolutely strongly recommend this trip and Jorge.

Jorge was a really great canyon guide. He knows his stuff, can tell many interesting things about nature and, probably the most important thing: with him you feel very aloof. A great experience with a great guide in an impressive landscape! Or simply: this was a 5-star-plus excursion!! Thanks George :)

It was just great fun. Jorge provides the orientation that is needed, but also leaves the freedom to try things out. Thumbs up!

Great guide and had a nice tour. The canyon is very easy for more experienced participants, but the scenery is magnificent
