    Bring on the adrenaline. Go for a full day's rafting on the Río Tenorio. Leave from La Fortuna or from Monteverde. Take a scenic drive along the beautiful, but windy road of Lake Arenal and get great views of the Arenal Volcano on the way. Arrive over the isolated rustic Guanacaste backroads and then take a rugged, 4x4 ride to the the river put-in. You’ll receive a thorough safety briefing and be fitted for your helmet, life-jacket and paddles. Then begin a beautiful 2.5-hour rafting trip along the arid and impressive canyon of the Tenorio River in Costa Rica’s picturesque Guanacaste province. Get more than 20 exciting rapids, enjoy a fresh fruit snack, hike to a local waterfall, and see plenty of wildlife along the way such as iguanas, tropical birds and monkeys. This unique rafting tour finishes with a thrilling, 12-foot waterfall drop. Have a delicious lunch after the trip, then head on your way to your hotel in the Guanacaste beach area for a glorious Pacific sunset.

    • Our river trips run rain or shine. If river conditions are unsuitable for the Río Tenorio, our head guide might make the call to change to a back-up river of a similar level and/or offer another tour – you're always guaranteed a fun, but safe day. You will receive a full refund if no tour is run.
    • Rafters should be in good physical condition and between the ages of 13 and 55.
    • Although you don't need experience, rafters should know how to swim.
    • Wear secure shoes and bring dry clothes to change into.
