The prison no longer exists, although one of the city’s opera houses can now be found on the site, along with a column honoring the 1831 Paris Commune. The tour does not visit the location of the former prison, but there will be a lively discussion of the event. Walk to Les Invalides, used by the French army as an ammunition depot in the city. Hear how revolutionaries scaled the moat and stole over 30,000 weapons that were used in the attack on the Bastille. King Louis XVI was beheaded in the current-day Place de la Concorde on 21 January 1793. Stripped of all titles, he was guillotined in front of a large crown as simply citizen Louis Capet. The executioner testified that he had bravely met his fate. Take in the history at Place de la Concorde, before visiting the Tuileries Gardens and the Assemblée Nationale, enjoying plenty of great discussions about the Reign of Terror of the 1790s along the way.

An excellent cruise with excellent food. On the journey that the cruise takes, you see all the main sights (Notre Dame, Eiffel Tower, Statue of Liberty) whilst enjoying really delicious food. The decor and layout is fairly upscale, and all tables seemed to have a good view (though others are right in saying sitting by the window on the left is a perfect view!). Menu choices were good, seemed to be something that everyone could have. Photographer does try to come round to make you buy a memento keepsake (good for some just not for us!), and be warned no tap water means you pay at least €7 for a small bottle of Evian. 100% would recommend and would do again in a heartbeat next time we are in Paris. As some mentioned, slightly hard to find but go down stairs by love lock bridge and there’s a cabin selling cruises - it’s just to the left of the cabin. No queue system so free for all getting on but tables were allocated so did not need to rush.

This was an amazing sunset trip. We enjoyed every minute of it. Paris has shown its splendor as we expected. We will do it again every time when we are in Paris.

It is to be done! Nice gourmet stroll on the Seine. All that is missing is an indication of the sites that pass before our eyes.
