The hamam is an atmospheric world all its own in the midst of modern, bustling Kusadasi. If you are stressed-out, tired, or just want to visit a place where time seems to have stood still for centuries, step inside for a Turkish bath experience. Immerse yourself and embrace traditional custom by wearing the waist-cloth and clogs provided to you. Relax in the hamam's large marble room heated by a continuous flow of hot dry air to build up a sweat. The combined intense heat and humidity encourages your pores to open and impurities to be extracted from your body. Then, move to the sauna before splashing with cold water and drying off at your own pace. Following this, your skin will be gently exfoliated with a Turkish scrub and you will receive a soothing soap massage. The Seljuks and Ottomans built large Turkish baths in the most populated areas of Turkey for the Turkish people to use. Baths have been part of Turkish society for centuries, and the reason they became so popular during these days was that Turkish people didn’t have facilities in their own houses. The local public Turkish bath became a social gathering place. People in Turkey in those days would view a visit to the Turkish bath as a day out and prepare picnics to take with them and eat after they have finished bathing. This tour offers a combination of the traditional hamam experience in a modern setting. Let yourself relax and unwind in an impressive hamam carved out of a cave, providing old-world tradition in a new and luxurious setting. After changing, you will be taken to the Sicaklik (Hot Room) of the Turkish Bath to help your muscles loosen up. From there, you will go to the warm room of the bath, and the staff (tellak for men and natir for women) will scrub you down using Turkish soap and a special cloth that gets out all your old skin blocking your pores.
