Full description
Ephesus is the second biggest open-air museum in the world after Pompeii. Explore the public parts of its grounds accompanied by a licensed guide in a small group. Enjoy pick-up from your hotel in Kusadasi or Selcuk or from the cruise ship port. Your driver will take you to several important sights of the area while your guide will help you immerse yourself in Greco-Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman history. The tour includes lunch and you can opt for a carpet or leather-making demonstration. Apart from the city of ancient Ephesus, also explore one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World - the Artemis Temple, as well as the temples of Hadrian and Domitian, the Fountains of Trojan, Polio, the Library of Celsus, and the Great Theater, which was once the center point of entertainment for up to 24,000 people. You will also get to see the House where Virgin Mary is believed to have spent her last years in life. It was a great day! Our tour guide, Fatima was super knowledgable, personable, and a joy to tour with. She took our group to a great authentic Turkish restaurant. We asked her to help us make arrangements to get back to airport the next day & without hesitation said sure! After the tour that day, it was more than a tour, we made a friend!

1. Excellent communication beforehand. 2. New modern and comfortable bus. 3. Very knowledgeable and experienced tour guide. Could speak English very well, as well as Spanish, and w/ a 5-year degree in this discipline. 4. Very economical, at less than half the price compared to the same tour offered through the cruise company.

Good tour

I felt like we were being rushed through the site - like we couldn't stop in all the important spots for background, history and explanations. The site is what we paid for, not the stop at the carpet factory. More attention was paid to lunch and the carpets than to the tour of Ephesus.
