Having been to Berlin before myself and with the wife being a massive VW enthusiast, I thought this could be the perfect tour to show the city to the family. My expectations were completely blown out of the water. The T1, Splitty, Bulli is a thing of absolute beauty which has been lovingly and sympathetically restored, maintained and as it should be, used. We were wowed by the van. The City is a veritable treasure trove of culture, history, architecture and as probably the 20th Century's most iconic place on earth instantly you feel connected to this and at home. However, the real star of the show was Rajko. His knowledge, enthusiasm and love of Berlin shone though throughout. We have all been on standard bus tours before, pre-recorded and around the main streets for the bus. This was a personal journey around this most beautiful, interesting city - including back streets and places of curiosity - from a Berlin local who didnt just give the headlines from history, but shared his own
I went straight up the audio guide centre where the lady gave me a headset and directed me to the garderobe and lockers (you use 1 euro to use a locker, but you get it back). Then you just head straight to the gallery and have your voucher scanned at the door. No queuing! Dont trust google for closing time... and also grab a map! You will need it.
Our driver who personally owned the amazing 1965 V Dub was amazing, so informative. Everything about the trip and the narrative around Berlin and all the hidden places was amazing, if you goto Berlin book this trip, its a must!!
The guy was great. Very knowledgeable and patient with the other tourists with kids. It was toooo hot in the van. We were all sweating due to the heat not having adjustments. We rolled the windows down when we could though
So worth doing. Personal guided tour of all the sights by a very informed guide. Really loved the tour
