Full description
A fascinating blend of Portuguese, Dutch and British influences have made Malacca one of the most popular tourist destinations in Malaysia. Your tour starts at St. Peter's Church and Dutch Square, from where you will head off to A Famosa. This site, a tiny gate is what is left of a once mighty Portuguese fortress, is the oldest surviving European architectural remains in Asia. This site's rich historical background earned it a UNESCO World Heritage Site designation in July 2008. Then, enjoy an authentic Malaccan local lunch at the Perenakan Restaurant. Keep your spirits high as you continue on to see other fascinating spots around Malacca, including Portuguese Square: affectionately referred to as Mini Lisbon, this is an attraction not to be missed. Lastly, enjoy shopping at the famous Jonker Walk bazaar, a market selling a variety of interesting handicrafts and souvenirs - you'll be sure to come across a treasure or two!

Our tour to Malacca was well judged and interesting, with a gentle walking tour of the historic town centre, a good quality included set lunch and a drive to the “floating” mosque on the seashore. Mr Maidin was a most knowledgable and very considerate driver/guide, taking good care of our preferences and limited physical fitness. We had a most enjoyable day and recommend this excursion.

It is a genuine private tour. Pick up from the hotel at 7am sharp. Drop off at the hotel around 4 pm. Powerful air-conditioned car. Our guide Sam was fantastic. Explaining everything all through the tour. Very knowledgeable about the history of Melacca. He surprised us at the end with a tour to the Chocolate factory (we bought more than our share of tasty chocolate) & to the Pewter factory Royal Selangor where a guided tour was really informative.

We decided last minute to go to Malakka and were suprised to see the whole transaction was done in a couple of minutes. We received a confirmation with all details and the schedule for the trip and about an hour later we were contacted via WhatsApp by our guide Ganesh to confirm the time and place of the pick-up the next morning. Ganesh, a very nice guy, showed us to all the sights in the old city, telling us about its history. Afterwards he left us to do some shopping in Jonker Street and to meet him later in a local Chinese restaurant for a nice lunch. We found it to be a very interresting and entertaining trip which we would not like to have missed.
