Kuala Lumpur: Local Street Food Night Tour

1. Kuala Lumpur: Local Street Food Night Tour

Meet your host at a pre-arranged meeting point and chat about your favorite foods and dishes before heading to the Jalan Bukit Bintang area to sample some fantastic street food options at Hutong Food Court. Sample some crispy barbecue roast chicken buns known as Siew Bao, and try a curry puff pastry filled with chicken that will bring baked goods close to your heart. Then, take a short stroll to Jalan Alor to discover where all the food magic really happens at your second tasting stop. Stroll among the rows of hawker stalls and watch the locals fill their tables with food. Try typical Chinese dim sum tasting bites, and get your lips around some Satay Lok Lok (grilled satay sticks) with a peanut sauce guaranteed to have you licking your fingers! Take the locals advice and eat at a Mamak food stall at Mamak SK Corner. Here, you can try some paper dosas and experience the very thin pancakes usually eaten with Indian sauces such as curry sauce or coconut chutney. Wash it all down with a typical teh tarik, a milk tea drink commonly found in South East Asia.

Batu Caves & Firefly Watching in Kuala Selangor

2. Batu Caves & Firefly Watching in Kuala Selangor

Enjoy an afternoon and evening tour to the dramatic 400-million-year-old Batu Caves and see hundreds of thousands of twinkling fireflies on a boat tour of the Selangor River. Continue to Batu Caves to roam in the prehistoric caves, after a climb of 272 steps. See some of the Hindu temples that have been established here since the early 1900s, such as the temples to Lord Murugan, Siva, and Ganesh. Next, you will go to Kuala Selangor, one of the most historic and conflicted areas during the early stages of the Malay Sultanate Selangor. It is also famous for its Seafood Restaurant, where you will enjoy dinner. But before dinner, stop at Bukit Malawati at the highest point in Kuala Selangor, and admire the fort that monitored ships along the Strait of Malacca and Selangor River. The area is home to some cheeky Silver Leaf Monkeys, which are more friendly and tame compared to the monkeys at Batu Caves. Sit down to a delicious dinner at the Seafood Restaurant and enjoy wonderful sunset views over the Selangor River. Vegetarian and chicken options are available in addition to the seafood specialties. Finally, drive to Kampung Kuantan Fireflies Park, and climb aboard a manual paddle boat. Quietly float out to see the incredible twinkles of the largest fireflies colony in the world. Marvel at the ability of these amazing lightning bugs to synchronize their light patterns, before your return to Kuala Lumpur at approximately 21:30.

We had a fantastic day! The Batu Caves are amazing, a must see for anyone visiting KL. Anuar was a wonderful host, who provided us with a fantastic and memorable day. The silver leaf monkeys were adorable, I could have strayed with them all day. Make sure you bring an easy change of clothes, because the monkeys will jump onto your shoulders and you will get dirty. The fireflies were lovely and Anuar went above and beyond to try and avoid the large tourist crowds.

I had a great experience in Malacca with Hafiz! As always, he was very helpful, polite and friendly. I got to experience some of the tradicional food of Malacca (the custard puffs are probably the best I've ever had!) The trip was very comfortable, Hafiz makes sure you're look after and make you feel comfortable. Absolutely a must do trip!

Fantastic combination! You see many different things in the time of the excursion (about 7 hours). You must see batucaves when you are in KL, monkeys were really super cute, the food was delicious and the fireflies sports from one rowboat was a really nice experience! Our guide, Zach, was fantastic!

It was a beautiful Exprerience we got to see monkeys and feed them and the fireflies look just like lighting up a Christmas tree!

Really nice trip! Would recommend it to everyone who‘s the first time in KL
