Full description
You will be picked up from your location in or near Krakow and driven to Wieliczka Salt Mine. Excavated since the 13th century, it is one of the world's oldest operating salt mines. In 1978, it was inscribed on the original UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites due to its mesmerizing underground saline chambers, corridors, lakes, sculptures, chandeliers, and the biggest underground church in the world – St. Kinga's Chapel. Upon entering, you will feel the fresh air healing any ailments such as asthma or allergies. To begin, you will be lead downstairs to the 101-meter depths of the mine's underground. There is the possibility of taking the lift down if booked and paid in advance. Proceed to walk on 3 different levels of the mine through beautiful chambers and corridors. Visit St. Kinga's Chapel, underground lakes, a light and sound show, and a 36-meter high chamber where bungee jumping and balloon flights occurred. You will then return to the surface of the mine with original lifts used by miners. Afterwards, you will be driven back to Krakow.
