Full description

Visit Auschwitz-Birkenau on a day trip from Krakow with a professional guide. Built in 1940, Auschwitz-Birkenau was the largest concentration camp operated by the Nazis. Before the liberation of Auschwitz on January 27, 1945, the SS attempted to destroy the camp and burn the archives.

The Polish government has since restored Auschwitz–Birkenau as a moving memorial to the victims. Upon entering through the main entrance, see original camp buildings in the main part of the complex.

Visit the museum with its permanent exhibition, an opportunity to learn about the real stories of prisoners and see their personal belongings. Finally, visit the extermination camp at Birkenau, where gas chambers and crematories are located. The duration of your visit to Auschwitz I lasts two hours and the visit to Auschwitz II lasts one hour. You will have 3 breaks during your tour and you will be provided with a lunch box, as well.

We had an excellent trip, once we did a reccy for where the pick up point was. The travel time is 1hr 30mins to Auschwitz, some other travellers didn't realise it was so far. As others say, it can seem a little rushed as other guides are behind you pushing your group onward, our guide was very informative and answered any questions we asked. Our coach driver was fabulous, he was funny, polite and a very safe driver. The tour operator was great and kept us informed as our trip was put forwards 2hrs.

The bus drives inside and not on the highway to Auschwitz, which means that you are on the road for a long time and you get sick of the bumps and bumps in the road surface. Had to wait a long time in the rain for the guide. Certainly 20 minutes. The description stated that you were not allowed to take a large bag with you, but everyone had just a backpack. The lunch was very sparse. Old wet dirty bread with lots of butter and a slice of topping and cucumber. The bananas were old and ripped open. Definitely not recommended. Tour itself was fine. It is very busy, so you really run after each other like a polonaise and have to wait for the next group to finish. Found the explanation good and well done by the guide.
