Full description
Explore the tragic history of World War II and the Holocaust on a 3.5-hour tour of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp. Depart Kraków and travel to the town of Oświęcim by comfortable vehicle with an English-speaking driver. Upon arrival, learn more about the history of the camp at exhibitions that detail how almost 1.3 million people were kept hostage and murdered there. Get an introduction to the origins of the camp, and hear about the everyday life of the prisoners. See the original barracks where they lived and the horrific gas chambers where they were put to death. Founded in 1947 as a vital reminder of the terrible events, the memorial museum was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979 and has seen millions of visitors walk through the infamous "Arbeit Macht Frei" gate to take a poignant journey through history.

We were collected on time and the whole day ran smoothly. Interesting commentary on the way to the site. The tour guides were really knowledgeable and despite it being so busy everyone was spaced out and very respectful. The headset meant we had a live tour but could hear from everywhere which was good as then we didn’t feel like we had to crowd together. A really emotional visit but a must see site to ensure this doesn’t happen again.

Excellent trip, although was 7hrs rather than 8. Journey there and back was smooth and trouble free. Guide at Auschwitz was great, gave a really in depth and well rounded history. Only comment would be that I would have rather the trip be an extra 30 mins to allow proper time for lunch, even if just a packed lunch. We only had 10 minutes between the two tours to quickly eat out food, and we weren't meant to eat on the bus meaning you could go from 9am until 4pm without really eating anything properly. However, I would still fully recommend this trip!

The organization was very good. There was just a small schedule change. I had requested a 9am departure and we finally left at 10.30am but we were notified about 24 hours before. Return at around 5 p.m. to Krakow (several stops depending on the hotels of each). Before the visit, we had a break of 10min and another break of 10/15min after the visit of the first camps. That's enough, I didn't feel like I was running all day. Our guide was great and perfectly explained the details and stories of Auschwitz-Birkenau to us. I recommend this guided tour, full of history and emotions.
