Cappadocia: 3-Day Tour with Optional Balloon Flight

5. Cappadocia: 3-Day Tour with Optional Balloon Flight

Göreme National Park and the Rock Sites of Cappadocia were added to UNESCO’s World Heritage list in 1985. Discover these natural wonders on a 3-day professionally guided tour, choosing from Alanya, Side, and Belek departures. Cappadocia, located in eastern Anatolia, boasts a unique historical and cultural heritage. In addition, the landscape of the region’s Devrent, Paşabağ, and Pigeon valleys is characterized by unusual fairy chimney formations. Millions of years ago, 3 of Cappadocia’s mountains were active volcanoes. Volcanic eruptions and erosion of the tuff layers of volcanic ash created the formations you see in the area today. During this excursion you’ll come across a wide variety of fairy chimney shapes, ranging from conical, pointed, and columnar to hat and mushroom-shaped. Visit an underground city and the Göreme Open Air Museum, which features over 30 rock-carved churches and chapels, dating from the 9th to the 11th centuries, and many with interior frescoes. Your guide will take you to the Mevlâna Museum in Konya, the mausoleum of Jalal ad-Din Muhammad Rumi. The site was also the lodge of the Mevlevi order of whirling dervishes. If you like you can choose to see a whirling dervishes show (not included in the tour price).

What people are saying about Konya

an absolute must! I booked in German because I'm not so confident in English. Except for a German couple only English and Russian. Tour guide made sure I can sit right behind her and held culture and info in 3 languages. Very impressive. I felt very well taken care of. It's a bit of a hassle, but it was worth it. underground city; oh well. The open-air museum is all the more interesting and the English R guide has also put a lot of time and effort into explaining the story in an understandable way. Otherwise everything worked out, stopovers, food and shopping in the confectionery, ceramics and jewelry store was timely enough and not intrusive. only - point! I received the details for collection 2 hours before by email and of course I slept soundly. According to the information, I assumed 04:30/05:00. Actual pickup 03:45. I've never been out the door so fast :-)

The trip was one of the best planned trips I have ever been on, in the 12+ countries I've visited. Excellent planning, time management, hotels, professional service and food across cities. I'd especially like to say special thanks to our professional tour guides, Gurkan Nakipoglu and Layla Yasar who made the experience extremely memorable. In particular, Gurkan was with us from Izmir through Cappadocia and really provided most valuable information about the history, culture, and curated the type of places we visited. It opened our minds beyond the basic info we had about Turkiye. Similarly Layla's insights on Istanbul and the history of the country was quite enriching. A trip to a country with such great history and culture, is incomplete without gaining such insight and knowledge. Thank you again!! Cheers, Neeraja

Everything went so well! We just came home from one fantastic 8 days toru around in Turkey! It all went so smooth from pick up in the airport to we where driven back to the airport. We had few problems with lugguage and a credit card swallowed by a machine - and the guide was so helpful with contacting airport and bank. We had a driver there was so relaxed so there was absolutly no stress when we where on the road. We had one guide in Istanbul and one guide the rest of the tour and both guides where so knowing and at the same time with respect for alone time. We can only recommend this tour to others!

The trip was worth the money, everything was well organized, the guide was very nice and explained a lot about the tour. A lot was also said about Turkey in general. With the balloon ride, which I booked 2 days before with your Turkish partner, it also worked great. The only thing I have to complain about is the balloon ride was very expensive 280 online and on the bus it was already 300 euros per person

Great tour! We had amazing guides and drivers, and felt like we had a good amount of time in each city and location. The tour never felt rushed and everything was organized in advance and ran very smoothly. Would recommend!
