Full description
Experience the region’s cultural diversity and unique history on this guided full-day tour that combines visits to Konjic, the Kravice Waterfalls, Počitelj, Blagaj, and Mostar. Explore must-see sights, marvel at amazing scenery and natural landscapes, and discover local food. Konjic The first stop of the day tour is a short visit to the old part of Konjic. The symbol of Konjic is the Old Stone Bridge, which was connecting the banks of the Neretva River for centuries. Explore parts of the Neretva River Canyon as you learn unique stories of Herzegovina. Kravice Waterfalls After Konjic, arrive at the Kravice Waterfalls, a 25-meter high mini version of Niagara Falls hidden in the Balkans on the Trebižat River. This is a popular swimming and picnic spot. The Kravice Waterfalls form a natural amphitheater 40 km southwest of the city of Mostar. For its amazing beauty and untouched nature, the state has protected it as a natural rarity. Počitelj Later, arrive at Počitelj, the Ottoman-era fortress village. Cupped in a steep rocky amphitheater, Počitelj is a warren of stairways climbing between stone-roofed houses and pomegranate bushes. Get a chance to experience this medieval and Ottoman-Mediterranean wonder of nature and architecture, a place like no other. Blagaj The next destination is Blagaj, a haven of peace and natural harmony. In Blagaj, see a historical Tekke: the Dervish Monastery built around 1520. The monastery is an important monument of the early Ottoman period in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Mostar Finally, head to Mostar, one of the most important pearls of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Mostar is a city of stone and a historical, political, scientific, and cultural center of Herzegovina. It lies at the foot of Velez Mountain in the Neretva River Valley. Mostar was one of the most destroyed cities during the war in Bosnia. But even today, it has enough preserved architecture to speak of the rich cultural past of the city. Complete your tour by seeing Mostar’s Old Bridge, the beating heart of the city as a symbol of Mostar’s history and one of the country’s most famous and recognizable landmarks. The Old Bridge was built in 1566 according to the plans of Hayruddin, the great Turkish builder of the 16th century. From 2005, it has been on UNESCO’s World Heritage List.
