From Dubrovnik: Horseback Riding Day Tour in Konavle Valley

10. From Dubrovnik: Horseback Riding Day Tour in Konavle Valley

Upon arriving at the Ranch, your guide (the wrangler) will take you through a brief orientation to get you ready for your riding experience. She will be in charge of matching you with the horse that will bring out the best horseback rider in you. Because our herd here at Bio Konavle is quite small, you will be riding in a small group. This will give you a unique opportunity to make a deeper connection with your horse, and maybe even find a new best friend. You will be riding a cold blooded Icelandic horse, around 140cm tall, and very popular among beginners for being easygoing and friendly. We let them spend most of their days relaxing in the meadows, treating them almost as family members. Therefore, we kindly ask you to show them the same kind of respect. We will start with an easy ride through the Konavle Valley, following narrow paths through fields of wildflowers, pine forests, scattered vineyards and farms. Enjoy the two and a half-hour ride through the breathtaking scenery, trot across the open range and feel the sweet-smelling sea breeze in your face. We will make a stop by the Ljuta River, where you can water your horse, splash around or even swim with them, depending on your previous experiences and skills. So, jump off and tie your horse to take a dip in the refreshing water or lie back and rest in the shade of a tree. There, we will have a snack and a glass of our wine, and if it is too early for wine for you, you can get a soft drink. After the short break by the river, we will get back on our horses and slowly return to the Bio Konavle Ranch, sit down and share our experiences. Don’t forget to give your email to the guide so she can send you the photos.

Highly recommend this day trip. The sights were really stunning and I learned a lot from the guide. In Kotor, I hiked up to a fort on the mountain for a great view of the fjord, and I still had time to wander around the old town. In Budva, I walked to a beach and it was another great view. If you have lunch in Budva, you'll have the perfect amount of time in each place.

Perfect experience at the end of February. No tourists. A mild weather. Fluidity at customs in both directions. Perfect driver. Quiet, steady. Perfect guide. Smiling, available, very interesting, patient, calm. Neither too much nor too little. Rich and varied circuit. With enough time for visits and discovery. Very nice tour that I recommend with Get your guide.
