Ko Lanta: Emerald Pool and Hot Springs Day Trip

1. Ko Lanta: Emerald Pool and Hot Springs Day Trip

Begin your day with pickup at around 8 AM from your resort, then head first to the Emerald Pool, a unique attraction on the main island of Krabi situated in the middle of a lush lowland forest rich in bio-diversity. The source of the groundwater flows through the limestone layer and settles, therefore making it look emerald green. Upon arrival, walk along the natural jungle path and admire the peaceful environment before jumping into the Emerald Pool. Have fun playing in the water, then replenish your energy with a set lunch featuring a range of Thai dishes at a local restaurant at midday. After lunch, visit the Hot Spring waterfall and spend time relaxing in the mineral-rich water. Therapeutic and soothing, the hot springs are natural ‘hot tubs’ crafted into smooth rock channeling water from deep-rooted thermal springs located in volcanic chambers. Enjoy the comfortably warm water temperature, which ranges from 40-50 degrees Celsius (104-122 degrees Fahrenheit). The mineral salts in the water are claimed to cure a range of illnesses such as rheumatism and sciatica. These jungle baths also feed into a cool stream which is perfect to cool off in after. At 3 PM, transfer back to your hotel on Ko Lanta Yai.

Ko Lanta Yai: Half-Day Ethical Elephant Sanctuary Tour

2. Ko Lanta Yai: Half-Day Ethical Elephant Sanctuary Tour

Start with pickup from your hotel in the morning or the afternoon, depending on the option selected. Upon arrival, your English-speaking tour guide will give you an introduction to the sanctuary and the elephants. Take some bananas and offer them to the elephants. Get acquainted with your new friends before hopping into the mud pool with them. Give the elephants a relaxing mud spa. Elephants naturally soak their skin with mud as a way to protect their skin from the sun, just like humans put on sunscreen. After the fun mud spa, enjoy bathing with the elephants in the water pool. Brush off the mud and exfoliate their skin to give them a relaxing pampering. Next, learn how to prepare food and herbal medicine for elephants. The herbal medicine is a mixture of multiple nutrient sources needed by elephants to stay healthy. They are like a supplement to their diet. Enjoy relaxing and feeding the elephants their herbal medicine. This is a perfect photo opportunity. Learn how to make eco-paper from elephant dung and take back the paper as a souvenir to show your friends and family.

Ko Lanta: Full-Day Caves & Beaches Kayak Tour with Lunch

3. Ko Lanta: Full-Day Caves & Beaches Kayak Tour with Lunch

The day begins with pickup from your hotel at 8:30 AM and heads to the first stop of the day, Tungyeepeng Mangrove. Travel through the mangrove and see the array of native wildlife that lives here, including naughty monkeys. Visit Koh Aung next and embark on a sightseeing tour of the island, stopping by a selection of impressive viewpoints. Next, take a wooden long-tail boat to Talabeng Island and go kayaking through its ancient sea cave. At the cave, find two large rock formations that stand more than 70 meters high and tower over the surface, then admire the spectacular stalagmites and stalactites that twinkle and shine in the sun. Once you’ve worked up a bit of an appetite, enjoy a delicious Thai lunch served on the idyllic Bu Bu Island. Afterwards, cool off from the heat with a refreshing swim in the ocean or relax and soak up the sun on the tranquil beach. At the end of an unforgettable adventure, sit back and relax on the return journey to your hotel, arriving at around 3:00 PM.

The most amazing, very ethical, real elephant sanctuary! Took me a long time to find it and I was starting to loose hope there is a place like that in South. So very glad I found you and thanks to you my husband and I fell in love with elephants❤️! It simply was the best experience ever, the highlight of our holidays in Thailand! Nothing else we did can compete with this unique and emotional half day spent at your sanctuary! You created an amazing place. Thank you to all the people that work there with gentle giants. You are simply amazing! We could tell from just being there for few hours how much love you have for elephants and how much passion and dedication for your job! Superstars! Your elephants are lucky to have you ❤️ I wish there was more places like that in Thailand and looking forward visiting next time when we are in koh Lanta ❤️

Amazing experience. Coming from a country where you only get to see these animals in zoos, it was incredible to be able to interact with them up close and on their terms. Wonderful guides, who really care about the elephants and who were warm and very knowledgeable about the elephants. Would recommend this to anyone.

Really very friendly and interesting guides. In addition, the sites were magnificent and the chicken rice meal was very good. The guide offered us banana fritters! I highly recommend this visit. Very comfortable vehicle too. Thanks the team

Great experience. Would book it again. Unfortunately the group size could have been a bit smaller!
