Full description
Explore the captivating world of coral reefs, and discover how to replenish and support their delicate ecosystem. Learn about coral propagation, then go diving to plant coral fragments on the reef. Containing more species per unit area than any other marine environment, coral reefs are an incredibly diverse ecosystem. However, the health of coral reefs worldwide is in decline. Help support the damaged reefs by assisting with the reproduction of coral. On the first day, learn about the theory behind Ocean Quests’ Coral Propagation Program (CPP). The founding principle is to rebuild damaged reefs, not create new ones. You will learn the procedure, which uses live rocks and broken coral to rehabilitate the reefs. On the second day, go diving into the training reef. Put your new knowledge into action, and plant coral fragments throughout the reef.
