Full description
Leave Dublin for the day on a truly scenic drive with amazing scenery stretching as far as the eyes can see. You’ll go to Kilkenny, once the medieval capital of Ireland, and home to Ireland’s finest Norman castle. Kilkenny is steeped in history – it was also the location of one of Ireland’s earliest witch trials, the famous story of Dame Alice Kyteler and her servant Petronilla. En route to Glendalough, drive into the wild Wicklow Mountains of County Carlow. Watch as the landscape changes from lush green pastures and gentle valleys, to the glacial valleys of Wicklow Gap. Continue to the monastic city of St. Kevin at Glendalough, best known for the wedding scenes in the blockbuster movie “Braveheart” and famous as the location for the film “PS I Love You.” Once you arrive in Glendalough, you’ll have time to explore one of the most beautiful sights in Ireland, in an area renowned for its magnificent scenery and Monastic ruins that date back to the 10th century.

Cathy and Lisa were awesome! We got such an informative tour, a lot of history was talked about and Cathy went out of her way to explain each stop and interesting site. They both worked extremely hard to make our tour comfortable. There were multiple events and diversions on the road and they were able to still make good time, keep everyone comfortable, and keep everyone safe. Awesome experience! We are so glad we went on this tour, the sites were breathtaking and definitely should be on everyone’s list!

Great tour to get a first impression on Ireland’s beautiful nature and smaller towns/ cities outside of Dublin. Richard was a great guide who had a lot to tell us and Jo was a wonderful driver The tour is a really good starting point to make you want to see and learn more of this beautiful country and it’s many many sheep

We love the hosts. The guide went almost all the way in telling the story of Ireland and explaining everything! Despite the intense rain that was falling I was able to visit the attractions because the driver was kind enough to leave us right on top of the places. Lunch around 2 pm was also very good, with some suggestions from the guide without forcing us to go to a specific place. Note also for the interaction with a shepherd and his dogs. Very interesting!
