I have to say right from the outset: I am not usually the type who typically hires a guide when I travel: I usually prefer to read up ahead of time and take a self-guided approach once there. I only had a couple days in Krakow and didn't have much time tonl do my own research beforehand so I decided to take the plunge, splurge a bit, and hired Seweryn for his 2-hour tour of the Jewish Quarter. Boy am I glad I did! In addition to being extremely knowledgeable about the history and architecture of the area, he delivers the tour with a real passion for these subjects. Moreover, he is just an all-around nice guy -- a real gentleman with whom I was extremely happy to spend a couple hours. This was time and money SO well spent! I will definitely book another one of his tours the next time I come to Krakow!
It is a walking tour, so prepare to walk (4-6 km). Great tour! Nice way to learn a small part of Krakow’s history and Jewish Quarter and Ghetto. Our guide Michael provided a lot of information, and he was very friendly and passionate to tell the story of Jewish and Polish people who lived in the area. Suggestion: tour ends at Schindler’s Factory so its a good idea to sync your tours to visit the factory after this tour. Allow yourselves some time to take a break (toilets, food, drinks) cause you might need to restore some energy after a long walk.
Piotr was a great guide. Very helpful, punctual, great English speaking and knowledgeable about the local area. Felt safe in his hands. The golf car is a really great way of getting around the city to see some parts we hadn’t. Wish we had taken the tour at the start of the trip. I’d advise that it’s best to do so as we had missed parts of the city.
This was an exceptional tour . Jack our guide was exceptionally knowledgable and was an excellent story teller . He very sensitively explained Polish history , including the occupation and holocaust and gave us much food for thought . Highly recommed
Seweryn is very knowledgeable and caring about history. He is also very flexible and accommodating to any suggestions. And he knows the best ice-cream in Krakow! If you like “local” genuine experience, spent half day walking Krakow with Seweryn...
