Very long day - grateful for the hotel pick-up at 6.15 am and drop off at 10.15 pm. Couldn't hear the bus driver on the way to the ferry. An elderly gentleman on the tour was very confused as he had luggage and was staying overnight on the island and didn't know what to do when we got to the ferry. Understood why we couldn't visit part of the island or the national park after the bus fires. Owner of the distillery is very Australian and not afraid to voice his opinion especially about Greenies. Got to pat a koala at the animal sanctuary. We had some extra time so the bus driver took us for a look at some of the fire damage and explained a lot about the fires.
Adam was a great driver and guide. Seal Beach, Remarkable Rocks, Admiral’s Arch, and the Zoo were all interesting places. The most spectacular areas were not affected by the recent bushfires. Those areas affected are recovering quickly. The epicormic growth on the eucalyptus trees is magnificent.
Kangaroo island was much bigger than I thought it was going to be. The tour we took was sixteen hours from pick up to drop off and the tour guide was amazing. Not only was he entertaining but very informative. His name is Mick and has lived on the island for 24 years so was very informative
Gary, our driver and host, was funny, super organized and very knowledgeable. The tour had the right amount of stops and we saw plenty of wildlife - the main purpose of the trip. All in an enjoyable trip.
Our tour itinerary was changed due to the fires. We were rang, emailed & it was spoken with bus driver about all options. This was excellent, they did a great job & last minute changes were seamless
