Our guide Anna was wonderful! Her knowledge of the area and history was truly remarkable and her commentary added to the enjoyment of visiting these remarkable locations. The time spent in each location was adequate and the tour was run efficiently. Our driver was also excellent, navigating some tricky roads in foggy conditions. I would recommend this tour highly. My only comment to the organizer would be to consider adding a minimum age for destinations such as this. Unfortunately, we had a 2-3 year old child on this tour who yelled/screamed pretty much the whole bus ride and during every visit to each location at a destination. It might not be a problem for some people, but visiting these solemn, thoughtful locations with a kid screaming almost non-stop almost ruined the trip for us. There's not much any guide could do - I understand the child's family has paid a ticket, but in the future, they might consider ages 6 or 10 and up for some of the trips.

My friend and I loved this experience! We're both studying abroad in Athens, and didn't have means of transportation to get us all the way to Meteora/Kalambaka, so this was the perfect setup. Our guide was knowledgeable and made the experience really fun. It was great to hear about the place from her perspective since she's grown up around the monasteries. The only thing I would critique would be the tight schedule. There were a few times we felt a bit rushed - like when we first got off the train and had to rush through breakfast, as well as from monastery to monastery. However, it is a necessary evil to see as much as we did in a day. For any future travelers, I would suggest bringing snacks or energy drinks (it's an early and long train ride!) to keep your spirits up. Otherwise, absolutely wonderful trip that I highly recommend if you have a free day for adventure!

The train trip is worth it! The landscapes are magnificent and the visit of the three monasteries is immersive. The guide shares some interesting information with us.
