Off-road Tour to David Gareja Monastery and Rainbow Mountain

1. Off-road Tour to David Gareja Monastery and Rainbow Mountain

Go on a one-day tour to the David Gareja Monastery complex. This short but eventful journey will allow you to explore one of the most ancient and important religious sites in Georgia. Davit-Gareja cave city, an extraordinary site with fantastic semi-desert landscapes, is located 100km south-east from Tbilisi, and it was founded in the 6th Century by David (St. David Garejeli). The complex of temples stretches for several kilometers in the south-east of the country and along the border with Azerbaijan. Absolutely amazing experience on this tour!!! Firstly, our guide was very clear with communication before we met up at the meeting point, something that is very important to me. He ensured we all knew where to go and for when. Secondly, our guide was knowledgeable, funny, attentive and made sure we were always having a great time. The lunch was very delicious and we had some fun drinks along the way too. Our driver was very good and professional. Though to guests...please ensure you follow the directions on the booking and check if you need a visa for Armenia. One of our guests ignored this detail and was not able to cross into the country, making the situation complicated for the other guests who had to wait for him. Always read the instructions and you will have an amazing time on this tour!!

Irakli is truly passionate and knowledgeable guide. I really recommend The Real Giorgia company (they know about real Armenia too ;))! We've seen not only monasteries, but also (post)Industrial areas and scenic mountains. Lunch was really tasty and I was full, though offer for vegetarians could be more varied. Thank you Irakli for showing me northern Armenia! I'll definitely join other activities next time I'm visiting Giorgia!

Our tour guide (Samvel) was a great tour guide... his knowledge and his English were excellent, and he was very attentive to my needs. Our driver was very talented and cautious. We had a great experience, lunch choices were awesome as well as the dinner. Samvel added a few special sites that were not in our itinerary, making the day extra special. It was a wonderful day we will never forget. Highly recommended!!

We had a great day in Armenia with Irakli. The places we stopped at were very beautiful and unique and we were provided with lots of information on them. The lunch was amazing, so many great Armenia dishes. Would definitely recommend this trip if you want to tick off another country during your stay in Tbilisi.

Awesome tour! We spent an amazing day wandering around truly remarkable places with an extremely knowledgeable and passionate guide. The tour is definitely a must-do from Tbilisi if you want to safely explore less touristy areas of Georgia.
