The visit to the Church of the Nativity imposed a 2h15 queue on us due to the impressive number of simultaneous visitors. There were too many organized tours that met at the same time for the visit. This time passed, forced our guide to visit the old city of Jerusalem at a run. Also asking the guide to ensure two languages, English and French, also takes way too much time. It is necessary to offer tours with a single language.

Tour started 2 hours later than advertised time due to traffic and poor planning. The first site was missed as a result without a mention although we would have had time if the mandatory stops in the tacky religious tourist shops in both Jerusalem & Bethlehem had been dropped instead. Bethlehem was most disappointing. We went all the way there to go to the Church of the Nativity only to find it too overcrowded to visit the cave. Instead we wasted more time in an overpriced souvenir shop. We didn't even get to walk anywhere. The guide was ok from a knowledge viewpoint but the poor planning of the tour route had us stuck in traffic for over an hour when we could have walked the route and had much better views. I booked a walking tour the next day with a local company which was significant better organized and focused on walking rather than sitting in a mini bus to get from site to site. We saw everything plus more.
