Amazing experience learning about the history of wine and what is important when growing grapes to produce a good wine. Very informative, the sommelier has great knowledge and answers each question thoroughly. We tried three wines, One white, One Rose, and we had a choice then of Red or White, all of which were really nice (good enough to buy a few bottles at the end!) We paid for the personalised bottle of wine but unfortunately the machine to customise the label was not working, we still got our bottle albeit unpersonalised but it still tased great and you’re not getting a bad wine at all 10/10 definitely recommend and when we return to Paris something we will hopefully do again
Caroline, the manager at "Retro Tour" was very helpful and supported to set the ride to a sunny day - basis of 'joyride' on motorbike. Christophe was punctually waiting for us on Concorde at gate to Tuilleries garden. The motorbike was great, a 750 ccm beast, with comfy sidecar, suitable even for non-experienced people. Christophe asked, whether we prefer speedy ride, we choose soft version, it was impressing even so. The route is well elaborated, concentrating on known places and 40 minute is good enough. During the ride is difficult to give long explanations - Christophe was ready to do it - best to enjoy the views of Paris, the breeze, the speed!
Our guide overall was excellent and did a great job getting us to the important works, as well as explaining the history of various parts and pieces. She pushed us through the lines when needed and was very practical. She was also very personable and friendly, and added many interesting details to areas of the museum and specific art items. I know there is a lot too see in such a short time, but the pacing felt uneven - a bit rushed in some parts, lingering in others. I would personally rather see the Mona Lisa on my own instead of wasting valuable guide time waiting in lines.
We took the 2.5 hr highlight tour of the Louvre. 2 mothers and 2 teen/tween daughters. We met w the group(of 23). Our guide was informative, humorous and moved us along well. He had tremendous patience and got us to all the highlights in the right amount of time while making sure everyone kept up. Myself and my daughter tend to glaze over at the 2 hr mark in a museum so this was perfect and got everything in that we wanted to see there. It would hv been hard without a guide. The Louvre is too big and far too crowded to maneuver everywhere in that amount of time. It was great!
I think a common mistake is to stay for too long. A short visit is great because there is so much information after a while people just tune out. This tour was perfect! We saw the most famous pieces and our guide, sorry can't remember her name, was absolutely wonderful. She spoke clearly and she was easy to understand. During my European vacation, I've been on many tours and often have been disappointed because the person has had a heavy accent making their communication poor. I would definitely recommend this tour.
