Jackson, WY is best known for its mountain resorts and outdoor experiences. There’s plenty to see and do in Jackson Hole, both in summer as well as in winter. Jackson Hole is also a gateway to Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks with the most stunning sceneries and wildlife. In addition, the Jackson Hole area also has rich Western traditions. You can go on horseback tours in cowboy ranches, attend rodeos, or experience covered wagon cookouts.

One of the nicest hidden gems to see in Jackson is Granite Creek and Granite Hot Springs. These natural hot springs are located about 1-hour drive from town and are open in summer and in winter, but closed in the shoulder season. In winter, you can get here by snowmobile or with a dog sled tour, and it’s a truly unique experience to soak in the hot waters of the spring with the snowy landscapes around you.

While one day is enough for Jackson town itself, we recommend planning at least a week in the area. This will allow you to see the best of the Jackson Hole, visit Grand Teton National Park, and explore Yellowstone National Park. As an absolute minimum, plan 4 days here: one for Jackson, one for Grand Teton, one for Yellowstone, and one day for some of the fun outdoor activities that the area has to offer.

What is the best way to get around Jackson?

While you can explore the town center on foot, you’ll need a car when visiting Jackson Hole. Alternatively, you can also take organized tours. Most of them offer free pick-up and drop-off in your hotel in Jackson, and so you could see the best of the area without hiring a car as well.

Where do I begin? Sarah was our tour guide and her knowledge of the area was incredible. This was our first time out to Idaho/Wyoming and it was something we will never forget. Sarah knew where to go so we were able to see Moose, Bison, Mule Deer, Elk, Big Horn Sheep, an immature Eagle, and a coyote. For me she was so much more than just a tour guide, she helped me with my little kids and went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and comfortable. She made the day feel like it was spent with family. I highly recommend this guided tour, it was private and everything I wanted and more!!!

Dallen was our tour guide and was fantastic!!! He picked us up from The CloudVeil and within minutes we saw tons of elk, moose, bison, big horn sheep, eagles and even a coyote! What a wonderful time and the Comoany Busch Buck was fantastic 10 outta 10 reccoemen

Our guide was very good and knowledgeable. We didn’t see a lot of wildlife, but he tried hard to find us some. Went several different place to locate some. It was a very nice time. The van was so comfortable and warm.

It was enjoyable experience, the guide was very informative and funny made sure everyone is comfortable and had an amazing time! Can’t wait to do it again in the summer I bet we will spot different animals like bears.

My husband and I had Kyle as our guide he was very friendly and funny, he gave us a lot of facts on the animals that we saw and history on the land it was a great fun experience.
