Chichen Itza is worth seeing for sure! The crowd is there but it’s so spread out that it’s manageable and there is plenty of shade around the edge circling the main structures. The town Izamal would have been nice in the morning when the markets are open. We arrived in the afternoon and it was all closed. Not fun, so if you have an option, ask for morning. The cenotes are amazing. In the weekend I was in the area this trip was my first. In hindsight it was like the Disneyland of cenotes. So commercialized because of the crowds. But again, it was beautiful still. Smaller tours can get you to less used cenotes. Guides were fabulous and well organized.
