Meet your guide and head to your bullet train, also known as shinkansen, to make your way to Hiroshima. Enter Tokujuji Temple and enjoy traditional Japanese cultural experiences, combining your choice of a tea ceremony, calligraphy lesson, or both, all while wearing traditional Japanese dress. During the calligraphy lesson, you'll learn how to draw the lines with step-by-step instructions. You'll have plenty of time to practice one or more of the Kanji, Chinese Characters. While you practice, your instructor will make a sample of your name. Once you have practiced the Kanji, practice how to write your name in Japanese alphabet, either in Hiragana or Katakana. Sign your work with Japanese and you are done. Wrap your art work to safly take them home. The tea ceremony has strict percedures. Starting from greeting, tea master will purify the tools, make the tea, clean the tools and close the tea ceremony. Enjoy sweets and matcha tea. Learn how to drink the tea in the correct manner and how to make the tea. We will have tea ceremony in Ryurei style, which means using table and chairs. Take a walk in the beautiful Japanese garden and have pictures taken.

Explore Miyajima Island on an exciting rickshaw tour led by a knowledgable guide. Meet your rickshaw outside of the Miyajima Ferry Terminal. Cruise down Miyajima’s charming streets to the center of town. See the townhouses and old-fashioned shopping arcade. Continue along the waterfront. Take in the view of the large orange torii (gate) standing in the water in front of the Itsukushima Shrine. Select the 70-minute tour option and visit the Daishoin Temple. This 1200-year-old temple is said to be a “power spot”– a special location where visitors are charged up with good energy. Enjoy a phenomenal view over Miyajima from the temple. Continue to Genbaku Dome, a UNESCO world heritage site, and the only structure left standing in the area where the first atomic bomb exploded. Visit the Peace Memorial Museum where you will see belongings left behind by victims of the nuclear attack, artifacts from the bomb, and read testimonies from survivors. As you explore the museum you will learn about the horrors, inhumane nature, and events of the 1945 attack. Try some local foods like Hiroshima-yaki or oysters for lunch before you finish up your tour of downtown Hiroshima. Board a ferry downtown and head to Miyajima, the Island of the Gods. Marvel at the floating red torii gate in high tide and go inside the Itsukushima shrine built over the sea.
