  • From Prague: Kutna Hora Walking Tour & St. Barbara Cathedral

    3. From Prague: Kutna Hora Walking Tour & St. Barbara Cathedral

Head east from Prague to the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage site of Kutna Hora. Its ample mineral assets became the backbone of the Czech economy, enriching the kingdom massively. Next, you’ll tour the town’s Cathedral of St. Barbara, considered one the best examples of late Gothic architecture in Bohemia. St. Barbara was patroness of the miners, and miners would come to the cathedral to receive her blessings. Learn a little bit more about the Czech Republic’s rich history on this walking tour from Prague.

The tour itself was great and Sara is an amazing tour guide: Very kind and welcoming. However, getting to the meeting point was a nightmare. Originally I got an email telling me that I would be picked up at my hotel and that I would receive further details soon. One hour before the tour, I had received nothing so I called and I was told that I had to go a different location. I was given very vague and confusing instructions, so I had some issues finding the spot. Since I was running late, a very rude person called my phone and yelled at me because I was supposedly in the wrong place. They made me turn around only to realize that I was actually walking in the right direction at the beginning. I'm completely disappointed with the way that I was treated before the tour itself began.

FANTASTIC! Front door pickup. Great driver and tour guide. Less than an hour to get there, then the Ossuary and St Barbara cathedral were unique and stunning. The town is quaint and walkable, and we had a lovely tea break in a cafe before heading back to Prague. Our guide, Eva, was so kind and knowledgeable, and knew great fun facts that aren't in the typical guidebooks.... she was awesome!
