Full description
Explore a historical gem of the eastern Mediterranean on a full-day tour of Ephesus from Istanbul, with round-trip flights, and walk in the footsteps of Cleopatra, Mark Antony, the Virgin Mary, and John the Apostle. The largest open-air museum in Turkey, Ephesus contains more than 30 buildings and structures linked together by streets that still bear the marks of chariot wheels. Your guide will show you the awe-inspiring Great Theater, where St. Paul preached against the pagans and gladiators once engaged in battle. Walk along Marble Street to the Library of Celsus and be dazzled by its restored façade. Visit the Temple of Hadrian, Roman baths, and other remarkable ruins. Continue to the Church of the Virgin Mary. According to Christian tradition, Mary was brought to Ephesus by the Apostle John after the Resurrection of Christ. The church was erected on the foundation of the house where she spent her final days, as authenticated by Pope Paul VI and Pope John Paul II. End your day at the Temple of Artemis, one of the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World. Today there are only a series of columns and scattered ruins of this marvelous Hellenistic construction, though the grandeur of the colossal structure once exceeded that of the Parthenon.

Good experience. The most important sites of Ephesus are known and with a guide in Spanish. Very good attention. The only thing that those who take the tour should know is that the price of the tour does not include entrance fees to the sites (house of the Virgin Mary and Ephesus) they are paid on the spot. In addition, you have to pay for the parking of the van that transports them in addition to the tips.

This trip was very well organized. Everything went as planned and on time. Our guide Fatih was so knowledgeable and very experienced at navigating the crowds. He gave us free time to explore the various sites for photos as well as pointed out a few great locations for the best photos. Our son, age 16 was engaged the entire trip. The driver was very good and navigated the narrow road to Mary’s House safely. We would highly recommend this trip.

What an experience! Spending the day with my fantastic guide Nafia was more than I could ask for. Sine it was only the two of us, She showed me sites within Ephesus which she isn’t normally able to do with large groups. Her knowledge of this ancient city was impressive and I learned so many interesting facts throughout the day.
