Very interesting exhibition telling the story up to, during and after the Battle of Culloden in 1746. Shop, cafe and toilet facilities good, and available even if you don't go into the paid ticket-only exhibition. The battlefield itself has been lovingly maintained and if you are lucky enough to visit early on a quiet morning (well before the visitor centre opens at 10) you can enjoy a very atmospheric walk round this amazing (sometimes moving) historic site.

This was an incredible experience, even with Covid restrictions. I think anyone who lives or visits Scotland needs to make the effort to visit this site. It will leave you with a good understanding of why the Scots are so deeply proud of their heritage. We loved it! The soup at the deli is beyond delicious and perfect on a cold day!

The visitor centre is incredibly well set out giving information on both sides of the battle. The 4 sided video room with the battle re-enactment was amazing, it actually made me feel quite emotional at the end of it. While walking around outside on the battlefield the weather was overcast and rainy but it all added to the atmosphere. I am a massive Outlander fan, so my visit to Culloden was one of the highlights of my Scotland trip. I also liked that they had a guide that was walking around in the museum happy to answer questions and give additional information.
