From Cape Town: Inverdoorn Game Reserve Full-Day Safari
- Small group
- Pickup available
- Duration options: 5 - 10 hours
We were picked up at 6am, Seapoint Cape Town. We booked this 2 day safari thro GetYourGuide which was with African Eagle Tours. Overall we really enjoyed the experience. Booking stated we'd have a Guide on transport to Inverdoorn but it was a driver. His sound system (in Toyota Quantum) was too loud so he didn't use it. It took 4 hrs..stopped 5mins for pics.. 30mins for breakfast..arrived at 10am. We relaxed for 2-3 hrs till our chalet was ready. good air con, clean & tidy. Then there's a buffet lunch. I bought special khaki coloured clothes but they weren't necessary. We went in February..eve safari was still hot but the morn one was a little chilly. The vehicle seats about 10. Take some binoculars. The eve safari for back a little late so we only had 15mins to getvready..but it's quite laid back so you don't have to dress up too much. We enjoyed the food. Had a choice of meat or fish for eve meal. Take insect repellent.
This is not a Safari but visit to a game reserve (to do a Safari you would need fly much further north)....what we did get was a look at the big 5 mostly living naturally however conditioned to humans and automobiles so they don't run away or hide like a animal in the wild would. Drivers were great and full of knowledge, meal was awesome....even trip too and from reserve was awesome! Great value too!
Too much downtime. We were picked up at 6:30am and arrived around 10:30am. Nothing to do till 4:00pm drive to look at animals. We had nice lunch. Since weather was cold you couldn’t sit outside. Then had nice dinner and bed time. No evening activities. Internet broken. Had great morning run and returned to home base about 9:00am. Stuck there till 2:30pm with nothing to do. Boring!
It was a great game drive. Christian was a great tour guide getting us there and back safely while filling us in on some south African History and pointing out lovely views along the way which really helped the 3 hour trip there and back!
A fantastic experience. I would strongly recommend the overnight 2 day safari rather than the 1 day as it gives far more opportunity to view more wildlife and have more time with the rangers to learn about the outback.
