What people are saying about Imlil

This was an excellent introduction for us to the Atlas mountains and the Berber villages at the foot of Toubkal. Our guide Abdul, himself local to one of the villages, was very knowledgeable, very genuine and very friendly. He seemed to know everyone we passed on the streets and mountain paths! He changed his tour plan when he learnt how much we love hiking and we ended actually staying the night in a beautiful hotel overlooking the mountains instead of heading back to Marrakesh. We had a lovely, fresh tajine lunch in a local household and had an extra hike to the nearby pass before watching the sunset over these beautiful mountains and kind, genuine people.

We had a fantastic trip with unforgettable experiences. We met our guide Zin Lahsan and cook Hasan following being picked up from Marrakech with a visit to the mountain Souks and Argon Oil shop along the way. The walk was spectacular with stunning view. All the food was good quality, fresh, well presented and very enjoyable (and plenty of it to keep us going!) Our guides were well planned, relaxed and made us feel very welcome and were happy to help with any questions. An unforgettable trip to the Atlas Mountain, would highly recommend!

We had a wonderful day walking through the Atlas mountains with our guide. He was very friendly and professional. We started with a walk to his village, had tea at his mother's house (who was also lovely) and then set off on our walk up the mountains, often stepping up large rock stairs and hills, so it does take some walking! After the walk we stopped at a house and had a private lunch of tagine with a view over the snow toppled Atlas mountains. I would highly recommend this tour. Well worth it.

Very different to Marrakech! We walked for 6-7 hours on the first day, starting in the beautiful mountain village of Imlil. My guide Lahcen was great fun and managed to teach me a bit of Arabic to go with his many language skills. This was a really nice way of seeing a completely different part of Morroco and understanding more about the Berber people - I took some amazing photographs! Make sure you bring clothes for snow though if you go in winter!

It was an amazing experience to remember! I had a great time hiking in the Atlas Mountains with our guide Abdul and our cook Ali. The views of the mountains were stunning, all the meals were delicious that they were able to cook a vegan food for myself. The guesthouse were I we stayed was comfortable. This is an experience you must do if you are planning visiting Morocco.
