The site of Ile aux Phares is where, as the name suggests, an old lighthouse dating back more than 200 years stands, now declared a historical monument. In 1810, Ile aux Phares and Ile de la Passe were the theater of a battle between the French and the British, known as the naval battle of Grand Port, which is the only victory of the Napoleonic Navy and is also listed on the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. Your fullday speedboat excursion starts at 09:30am from the Blue Bay Public Beach, in the South-East of Mauritius. At the beginning you will have the opportunity to snorkel in the Blue Bay Marine Park, the largest Coral Reserve from Maurtius. Afterwards the excursion will move along the marvellous seaside from Point d´ Esny, in direction to Mahebourg, the former capital of the island and on to the island - Ile aux Phare. Here you will have time to visit the ancient lighthouse ruin or time to walk on the island.
