Head out on a drive to Jelsa on this 3-hour program and visit one of the most famous Croatian winemakers. Jelsa is a small coastal town with a long and proud wine-making tradition. The Tomić family and 10 other people from the island of Hvar work in the winery. They cultivate indigenous grapes, but experiment with new ones as well. The family is constantly enhancing the production of red, white and rose varieties with modern technologies, but pay particular attention to Prošek, the original Dalmatian wine, made from selected and dried grapes of the highest quality local varieties. In the wine cellar you’ll have the opportunity to taste 4 or 5 different wines with a wine guide, who will describe the individual wines and tell you about the finest local appetizers that will accompany them. The Carić family has been involved with vineyards for generations, however it was not before Vino Hvar was established that they started to produce their own Carič wines. Their work in the vineyards is just as important to them as their work in the winery. There are 5 hectares of vineyards in the specially designated wine growing area known as Vinogorje Hvar. The family also grows indigenous varieties: Plavac Mali, Bogdanjuša, Kuč, Maraština, Darnekuša and Pošip. In addition they purchase a small amount of grapes from contract growers to complement their crop.

Spend the day on the water exploring the Paklinski Islands archipelago on a private or small-group excursion. Experience the thrill of sailing on a 37-foot racing sailboat that will take you to see the most breathtaking sights of the Paklinski islands archipelago. The tour begins at 10:00 AM in the main harbor of Hvar on catamaran ferry dock. Once you’ve been picked up in Hvar, you’ll soon learn why it is sometimes called the Lavender Island. Lavender is grown on the island’s hills and rocky slopes and is at its peak in June and July. On this 3-hour program your driver/guide will take you to see the lavender fields near the village of Brusje, located high up on the old road to Stari Grad. From the village you’ll have sweeping views of the seas and the mainland. Take a walk through the lavender fields, and admire the spectacular color and enjoy the fragrance. The wine tour begins in Hvar town with a drive to the other side of the island to the island's most important wine region. Further on, you'll visit two of the most famous Croatian winemakers. The wine tour includes wine tastings in two wineries of your choice (depending on availability). In the Sv. Nedjelja village, by the waterside, the Plenković family formed their horticulturist company in early 1986. Their vineyards are to the south of Hvar island and on the Makarska vineyards below Mt. Biokovo. Here you will have a chance to see an astonishing underwater wine cellar overlooking the bottom of the sea. You will have the opportunity to taste 4-5 different wines including Croatia's only Grand Cru with the islands finest local appetizers. Heading past the coastal resort from Hvar town, there lies Hvar’s most beautiful village, the abandoned ethno-eco village. To wander around this village, abandoned in the 50’s, amidst a backdrop of cliffs, gives you an insight into authentic Dalmatia. These homes were relinquished as the locals moved to Milna, in search of a better life, and more economic stability. The village however, is not totally abandoned. The host has restored his family home and opened a small family restaurant, offering traditional meals prepared with ingredients found in the surrounding area. He lives only by the food and products of his zone, from wine to olive oil, rosemary, sage, capers and basil. This abandoned village is a testament to the tenacity of a strong-willed culture. After the dinner you will go back to Hvar town. 9. The Best of Hvar in 1-Day with Local Dinner

Once you have been picked up from Hvar, this small-group tour begins at the French Fortress built by Napoleon’s troops, on St. Nicholas Hill, the Spanish Fortress, Pakleni and Vis islands. Continue driving through the green island of Hvar, passing through Brusje, where you'll be able to walk through the Lavender fields, (seasonal options June - July).  Arrive at the port of Stari Grad, where the old roads are paved with amazing views. Then you'll approach the fascinating town of Stari Grad, once known as Pharia and Pharos, the Island’s capital. Continuing through the stone streets along the new Riva, and visit the fortress “Tvrdalj”, once belonging to the poet Petar Hektorović. This town in Hvar is named after the many small stone bridges connecting the town over its narrow winding canal and the splendid St. Mary of Mercy fortress - church. Your next stop is for a wine tasting at one of the best vineyards on the island (either Tomić or Carić vinery). Here you will have a guided wine tasting tour at one of the best wineries on the island. On the way back, you will enjoy the charming authentic Dalmatian lunch/dinner in an abandoned village or in an Olive grove.

Great Guide who os from Hvar and told me much interesting things about the island. Wine was also great and snacks really tasty. I booked alone and they wanted to postpone as I was the only one. That was not possible for me so they kept the date and I had a wonderful evening with to other persons at the wine bar.

We had limited time in Hvar and decided on this tour. It was great to have Dinko explain a few things on the journey to the winery and a few stops on the old road. The winery was lovely and the wines, sparkling in particular for myself was exceptional!

REALLY go sailing. It is a racing boat, driven with skill. Always available beers, water and juice. It is beautiful to bathe in the crystal clear water. Ability to use the sup once stopped. Really all very nice and fun.

Awesome experience in a racing sailing yacht. Also had a chance to snorkel at a beautiful island beach. Recomend it to everyone. The crew is very friendly.
